The Healing Power of Salawāt: A Journey of Peace and Transformation
There was a man who was deeply depressed and overwhelmed by the difficulties in his life. In search of a solution, he came across a group of people, dedicated solely to reciting Salawāt (blessings) upon the Prophet ﷺ. They just encouraged Salawāt regularly.
He began reciting, but after some time, due to personal struggles, he could no longer connect with these people. One Friday, feeling utterly hopeless, he decided to isolate himself for the day. His plan was simple—he would attend Jumu‘ah and then spend the entire day reciting Salawāt, seeking relief from his hardships.
He started after Fajr and continued until he dozed off, then woke up, ate, and resumed. By Jumu‘ah, he had already completed 5,000 Salawāt. After attending the prayer, he returned home and continued, reaching 10,000 by ‘Asr. Shortly after ‘Asr, he fell asleep.
When his wife entered the room, she noticed a beautiful fragrance of misk (musk) filling the air. Surprised, she asked, “Where is this scent coming from? Did you buy something?” He replied, “No, I didn’t buy anything. It must be from the Salawāt.”
By ‘Isha, he had completed 15,000 Salawāt. When he awoke the next morning, he felt like a completely different person. Externally, nothing in his life had changed, but internally, everything had transformed. He was filled with energy, hope, and mental clarity. With this newfound strength, he began making efforts to improve his situation, and soon, his affairs started changing for the better.
Inspired, he committed to reciting even more Salawāt. By the following Friday, he had completed 100,000. That first Friday marked a turning point in his life. After ‘Asr that day, he saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in a dream, gesturing to him that everything would be fine.
From then on, he remained steadfast in sending Salawāt upon the Prophet ﷺ. Over time, his life transformed—his financial situation improved, and he felt happier and more content than ever before.
I can attest to this. When I was going through the hardest time of my life after getting a divorce, I started reciting Salawāt on the Prophet ﷺ, and it helped me in ways I could never have imagined. I always say that 80%, if not 100%, of my healing came from reciting Salawāt. It brought me immense peace, and it also guided me to the right paths—it led me to the right people for healing, the most beneficial resources, and so many blessings I never expected.
This is the power of Salawāt. When practiced with sincerity and consistency, it brings miracles, blessings, and a deep sense of peace and joy. Recite as much as you can every day, and prepare to witness the immense barakah it brings into your life.
