This Ramadhān, Let’s Receive
Ramadhān comes with so many gifts—the biggest of them all is peace.
Yet, so often, we find ourselves too busy to receive it.
As women, we are always giving. Giving our time, our energy, our love. We give to our families, to our homes, to our work, to our responsibilities, to the never-ending list of things that need to get done. We give so much that we often forget how to receive.
But this Ramadhān, let’s do things differently.
Let’s allow ourselves to receive.
Because Ramadhān is not just about what we do—it’s about what Allah wants to give us. And He wants to give us so much.
Allah, Al-Wadūd (The Most Loving), Al-Salām (The Source of Peace), Al-Raḥmān (The Most Merciful), is opening the doors of His mercy wider than ever. He is pouring down blessings, tranquility, healing, and closeness to Him. But to truly benefit, we need to open our hearts and allow ourselves to receive.
To receive His peace when the world feels heavy.
To receive His love when we feel unseen.
To receive His mercy when we feel unworthy.
To receive His presence when we feel alone.
Ramadhān is not meant to exhaust us. It is not meant to feel like another burden we have to carry. It is not about proving how much we can do, how many acts of worship we can fit in, or how perfectly we can perform.
Ramadhān is a gift.
And a gift is meant to be received.
So this Ramadhān, take a breath. Slow down. Let go of the idea that you need to do more to be worthy of Allah’s love and mercy. Just open your heart and let Him give to you.
Because what He gives comes straight from the Source—from Al-Wadūd, the One whose love never runs out. From Al-Salām, the One who fills hearts with peace. From Al-Raḥmān, the One whose mercy knows no limits.
And of course, as you receive from Allah, naturally, you will begin to give back. But this time, it will not feel heavy—it will feel effortless. Your acts of worship will no longer feel like a duty but a desire, an expression of love, not obligation. Your Salaah will feel lighter, your Qur’ān recitation will feel sweeter, your du’ās will feel deeper.
When you are filled by Allah, giving becomes easy. Your ibādah will flow from your heart, purely for His sake, not out of guilt or pressure. And in this way, you will fulfil all your acts of worship, your intentions, your devotion—not as a weight on your shoulders, but as a light in your soul.
You don’t have to chase it. You don’t have to earn it.
Just be ready to receive it.
And trust that what Allah gives will be exactly what your soul needs.
